Treat yourself to doing the sky dive dubai over the palm. Fantastic experience and great place to do it

Re: Biannual Dubai thread
First time I went I wasn't a fan. Quite pretentious, and a lot of the expats are cunts. But if you accept it fir what it is, its great, and I go back regularly when I need a break. And as much as I like to go there to switch off, a week is always plenty.

If you work hard and your holidays are genuinely to wind down, do nothing, eat and drink well and get great service, then there's nowhere better.
If you want something more or cost is a consideration, don't bother.

You might be a bit late to be able to get tickets, but Friday brunch at the madinat (jumeirah Al qasr on google) is a good laugh. And stay there a couple of nights if you can - plenty of locals stay there so less pikey foreigners pretending to have money they don't have.
If you're going with a bird, eat at ossiano. And use that as your one and only visit to atlantis.
Lastly, given your spandex-ridden eurovision jaunts, be very careful where you indulge in your bender activities. Be respectful of the culture and you won't have a problem.

Nurse - indeed, THAT is interesting! I'd be more bothered by COVID nonsense than Russia at the mo. What a journey though.

Darby - that's pretty much where we're staying. I picked it because of that! Oman will have to wait for another trip.

yngwies Cat - exactly how I feel, but I need to try it to know.

Coffee - that's it exactly. I may love it but I'd be very surprised - this way I'll know. Looking forward to dinner at a Persian kebab shop and a Lebanese place that I've read about though.

legrandefromage - it's not all I want to know, but I can find the cultural stuff myself - and it didn't take long in this case ;)

Manuel - thank you, as always - I ask the odd thing on here as WHO offers a different perspective at times. I do my real showing off in front of my mates on Facebook. And it's "hotelS".

One Flew - ta ;)

Lovejoy - thanks, I'll check that out. I'm in the desert for the Lyon game though.

Eerie Descent - you're damn right! I don't mind paying the going rate, but there's something about being/feeling ripped off that grates. Particularly somewhere that I don't feel warrants it. Usually I love a city's bars as I feel you get a good feel of a place, but I'm not so convinced that'll be the case here.

Thanks all for the 28 replies and ONE bar tip, btw ;)

Watch out for the Russians, it’s where they’ve all moved to now.

My brother lived in Dubai for a few years & ended up hating the place. I visited a few times & thought it was all a bit shit.

"Then I’d quickly get on a plane to Oman."

Beat me to it.

Day or two in Muscat then down to Salalah for another couple of days.

Salalah is really nice but more conservative than Muscat, so pick your hotel with care - many are dry.

make sure you have your orange undercoat applied before flying out, it'll help you blend in with the thousands of other oompa loompas visiting that cesspit

Pit comes as no surprise whatsoever that OTB is a tight cunt.

Very predicable response, but yea I hope so. They were like you, stuck up wankers and not your typical West Ham people, you would have fitted right in. Now fuck off and look for some other form of entertainment aside from me.

Lovejoy - Yea that was where I went. Apart from Yogib the rest were cliquey, boring, judgemental cunts harping on about their portfolio's and where they were going for brunch the next day. Not for me. The chip butty was ok though.

Lovejoy 7:14 Sat Mar 26
Re: Biannual Dubai thread
The Dubai Hammers can be found on match days at Nelsons, Media Rotana, Tecom. Decently priced beer and free half time chip butties.

Re: Biannual Dubai thread
Awwww. You going to ask Jeeves? The cheapest beer is in the supermarkets, if OTB really is that stressed even after getting free flights and hotel.

One Flew 7:02 Sat Mar 26
Re: Biannual Dubai thread
I like OTB , don’t know where the cheapest beer is but I’ll ask.

Manuel in case you hadn’t noticed this isn’t only a football forum but please don’t let that stop you

You enjoy reading anything, you cunt.

Always thought OTB is a mammoth twat, tbf, but ok in small doses.

Manuel

I, for one, enjoy reading about people's travels.

If you don't, do you really require advice about how to avoid it?

Manuel 5:12 Sat Mar 26
Re: Biannual Dubai thread
This OP is forever harping on about his fucking travels. Not sure whey he always wants to share it all on a football forum. He probably think thinks we're all MATES.

Darby_ 5:09 Sat Mar 26
Re: Biannual Dubai thread
He wasn't looking for the price of a beer, cheeseman. It's a classic "Where's the cheapest place to get a PSP in Hong Kong" Zoltaneering thread.

Or possibly negative Zoltaneering in the case of Dubai.
